Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary
7.98 sq. km engulfed in thick moist deciduous forests, interfused with tiny patches of evergreens and bamboo along the nullahs. This sanctuary proudly boasts about varied animal sightings. Gaur (state animal), panther, jungle cat, leopard, deer wild boards to name a few.

Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park
These juxtaposed protected areas together comprise of a large 240 sq.km of thick green fir. Vast expanse forests provide habitat to a large number of wild animals. Waterfalls, canyons, even a 12th century heritage site (Mahadev's Temple) all packaged in one, could you ask for more?

Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary
Enclosing an area of 105 sq.km. this sanctuary epitomizes the eco-systems in the region of Western Ghat. Tall trees, some even going up to the height of 30 m, loom over this thickly covered area. Birds and animals aplenty, the majestic Black Panther is to look out for.

Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
Among the mangroves and waterways of the Mandovi River, only 4km east of Panaji, Goa's smallest wildlife reserve makes a fascinating early morning outing, even if you're not a dedicated bird-watcher. The Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary occupies a total area of only 1.8 sq.km on the southwestern tip of Chorao Island, but between October and February this tiny refuge attracts an amazingly rich variety of birdlife that will keep even the most discerning twitcher happy for days.
