Wildernest

Wildernest has 12 cosy cottages. Arrive at the gates and you'll be taken up to the hotel by bullock cart! It's a good place to spot the Malabar whistling thrush, apart from the wildlife in the jungle around. The resort has a swimming pool, a Goan restaurant and a garden bar, Cloud 9.

Location: In the Chorla Ghats near Sanquelim, in Bicholim Taluka.

Godfrey's Indian Retreat

Godfrey's Indian Retreat, formerly known as Goofy's Countryside Hermitage, is spread over a 30-acre hilltop estate. This is a rustic paradise, with lots of birds, peacocks and jungle trails. Go on an elephant ride and take part in activities including lessons on henna designs and basket-weaving. Day visitors can also enjoy these activities.

Location: At Sal Village in Bicholim Taluka, about 21 km from Mapusa

Rustic Plantations

Rustic Plantations is the only accommodation option in Sattari Taluka, an area virtually untouched by tourism. The resort offers nature camps and many activities in the great outdoors. These include trekking, bird-watching, snake shows and night treks.

Location: 8 km from Valpoi in Sattari.

Tip: Rustic is a seasonal resort, open from October - May
