Dogs on goa beaches

by Eleanor
(Sydney)

I have just returned to Australia after spending 3 weeks in Benaulim, Goa, with friends from the UK.

It is a wonderful place. The sea is clean and warm, I am used to very cold sea temperatures.

The only complaint I have is the dogs, dogs everywhere, puppies, pregnant dogs and worst of all howling and barking dogs. Why doesn't someone clean the problem up. They serve no purpose, they defecate on the sand, fight and I saw in my three weeks a family of puppies skin and bone go from 6 puppies to 2.

It is a problem, tourists do not like it and try to feed them which is not the answer, culling them is the only answer. So why isn't someone doing something about it.

Benaulim Dogs NEW

Here. Here. Hurrah !!!!! I am glad somebody else is of the same opinion. It is the tourist who encourage the increase of this menance. Culling is a very good idea especially for the sick and poorly. Once the tourist have gone home and the beach shacks are closed nobody feeds them. They roam as packs only to return in ever increasing numbers the following season. Kill the buggers I say and be done with it.
