South Goa Beach

Where is Agonda beach?

If you continue driving towards Goa's Panaji from Palolem, the next beach is Agonda beach.

How to reach here?

It is really difficult to reach this beach because it falls a bit away from the main road and no local buses ply here. It also gives an element of solitude at the beach, as you won't find many tourists here. The best way to reach this beach is by a scooter or motors bike.

More information...

This beach is a long and lonely, fringed with palms and casuarinas and dominated by a large hill to the south. If a person is looking for some quiet moments, this is the place to be.

This beach is special because you will find absolutely no tourists, no souvenir stalls, no restaurants, nothing. Just the trees, the beach, the big beautiful ocean and you. It also makes for a great day trip from Colva and Cavelossim. For real adventure, hire a tent and camp for the night, listening to the crashing of the sea waves.

This beach can be enjoyed by those who can appreciate the beauty of owning a beach. This is exactly how you will feel once you are here. With tourists next to none, this beach offers perfect solitude which one can drown in.

Cabo de Rama
Not far from this beach is Cabo de Rama, untouched by most of the visitors in this region. The atmosphere of the fort creates a sense of history and drama that very few would fail to appreciate. The fort is named after Rama, hero of the Hindu epic Ramayana. According to the local legends, Rama stayed here with his wife Sita during the period of 12-year exile.

Where to stay in Goa Agonda beach?

There are not many facilities here as far as staying is concerned. So it is always better to stay at some guesthouses and visit Agonda beach. But if you are the adventurous type, then you can hire a tent and camp for the night on the beach.
